edition of 250 copies, not stated but cf. TPL 145. Original wraps, very beautiful
copy. The Sachems (they were 5 but one died en route) were induced to accompany Col. Peter
Schuyler of Albany on a trip to England, for the purpose not only of confirming the
attachment of the Five Nations to the British cause as opposed to the French, but also to
enlist that of the Court in colonial affairs. The Chiefs were made much of during their
stay in England; they were received at the Court, they harangued the Queen, and were sent
back loaded with rich gifts. Very scarce title!!
